چکیده
A strain of Leptospirillum sp. CC previously isolated from Akhtala polymetallic ore (Armenia) was studied. The main morphological and physiological characteristics were revealed. optimal growth temperature 40 °C pH 1.5. phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences (GenBank ID OM272948) showed that isolate clustered with L. ferriphilum possessed 99.8% sequence similarity the OL12-2 (KF356024). molar fraction DNA (G + C) 58.5%. Bioleaching experiment indicates can oxidize Fe(II) efficiently, after 17 days, 44.1% copper 91.4% iron are extracted chalcopyrite pyrite, respectively. efficiency in pyrite oxidation increases 1.7 times when co-cultivated At. ferrooxidans ZnC. However, highest activity shows association L.ferriphilum heterotrophic Acidocella RBA bacteria. It shown bioleaching by CC, ZnC, albertensis SO-2 comparison pure culture for 21 days increased about 1.2 1.4–1.6 times,

Nickel-resistant determinant from Leptospirillum ferriphilum.
Leptospirillum ferriphilum strain UBK03 isolated from a mine in Jiangxi, China, is resistant to Ni(2+) (30 to 40 mM). A four-gene nickel resistance cluster was identified and, when transformed into Escherichia coli, enabled growth in 6 mM nickel. Mutation experiments revealed that the genes ncrA, ncrB, and ncrC could confer nickel resistance in Escherichia coli, whereas the gene ncrY could have...
متن کاملDraft genome sequence of chloride-tolerant Leptospirillum ferriphilum Sp-Cl from industrial bioleaching operations in northern Chile.
Leptospirillum ferriphilum Sp-Cl is a Gram negative, thermotolerant, curved, rod-shaped bacterium, isolated from an industrial bioleaching operation in northern Chile, where chalcocite is the major copper mineral and copper hydroxychloride atacamite is present in variable proportions in the ore. This strain has unique features as compared to the other members of the species, namely resistance t...
متن کاملCross-Comparison of Leaching Strains Isolated from Two Different Regions: Chambishi and Dexing Copper Mines
A cross-comparison of six strains isolated from two different regions, Chambishi copper mine (Zambia, Africa) and Dexing copper mine (China, Asia), was conducted to study the leaching efficiency of low grade copper ores. The strains belong to the three major species often encountered in bioleaching of copper sulfide ores under mesophilic conditions: Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, Acidithiobaci...
متن کاملBioleaching technology in minerals processing
Although bioleaching was used unknowingly by the ancients to extract metals (principally copper) from ores, the development of modern commercial bioleaching processes is relatively new. It began in the late 1940s, with the discovery of the role of bacteria in the formation of acid mine drainage. From there, research and development activities in the field flourished, and the earliest commercial...
متن کاملBioleaching review part B: progress in bioleaching: applications of microbial processes by the minerals industries.
This review describes the historical development and current state of metals leaching and sulfide mineral biooxidation by the minerals industries. During the past 20 years commercial processes employing microorganisms for mineral recovery have progressed from rather uncontrolled copper dump leaching to mineral oxidation and leaching in designed bioheaps for oxidation of refractory gold ores and...
